Wacker Chemie AG (ETR: WCH) announced on August 25, 2026, the commercial availability of its "C--Ink" series, a new line of high--purity Kesterite (CZTS) precursor inks designed for large--scale thin--film manufacturing. These liquid--phase precursors are optimized for high--speed slot--die coating processes, addressing the historical challenges of grain growth uniformity in Kesterite layers. By enabling a more controlled crystallization process, the "C--Ink" series has helped pilot partners achieve a 1.2% absolute increase in cell efficiency. Wacker also confirmed a new joint development agreement with a leading European automotive OEM to integrate these flexible, earth--abundant solar cells into vehicle--integrated photovoltaics (VIPV) starting in 2028.
