Perovskite Tech news

On July 19, 2026, the European Commission awarded a €40 million grant to the "PERO--TRANSIT" consortium, led by Fraunhofer ISE, to accelerate the deployment of perovskite--silicon tandem solar cells within public transport infrastructure. The project aims to establish a pilot production line for lightweight, vibration--resistant modules specifically designed for integration into train rooftops and bus shelters. The consortium, comprising 12 industrial and research partners, will focus on standardizing durability protocols and safety certifications to facilitate the large--scale adoption of perovskite technology in the European transit sector.
