On July 24, 2026, the Dutch startup CircuPV announced the commercial launch of "Pero--Recycle", a specialized service for the end--of--life management and material recovery of perovskite solar modules. The company's proprietary chemical process enables the extraction of over 98% of lead and organic halides from decommissioned cells, which are then purified for reuse in new thin--film production. CircuPV has entered into a strategic pilot agreement with the European Solar Manufacturing Council (ESMC) to establish standardized recycling protocols for the emerging perovskite industry. This service addresses a critical regulatory hurdle regarding the environmental impact of lead--based perovskite materials in the European market.
