On September 2, 2026, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) announced the signing of a strategic supply agreement with a major Australian utility to provide 15 GWh of its "EnerC" liquid--cooled energy storage systems. The project is intended to bolster grid stability in South Australia and represents the company's largest stationary storage contract in the region to date. The agreement includes a 10--year comprehensive service package for performance monitoring and battery lifecycle management. A formal project groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for January 20, 2027, in Adelaide.
