On September 25, 2026, researcher Giovanni Schiuma published a study in the Journal of Knowledge Management titled "AI--driven organisational cognitive transformation: knowledge management strategies for hybrid cognition." The research addresses critical theoretical and operational gaps in enterprise AI integration by conceptualizing modern enterprises as hybrid cognitive systems, where artificial intelligence acts as an active knowledge--based technology rather than a passive transactional utility. Delineating the systemic boundaries between human tacit understanding and machine data synthesis, the study establishes a strategic portfolio of five AI--powered knowledge management strategies: knowledge discovery and sensemaking, generative knowledge creation and co--production, reflexive learning, autonomous knowledge orchestration, and co--evolutionary ecosystem intelligence. The paper provides enterprise leaders with an architectural model for deploying AI--driven knowledge management, guiding organizations to align agentic workflows, safeguard institutional memory, and achieve structured human--AI collaborative cognition.
