On October 22, 2026, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing to build an electric vehicle battery--swapping ecosystem targeting one million vehicles. Under the agreement, BAIC will adapt multi--brand vehicle models to integrate with CATL's "Choco" battery--swapping network and make its dealership infrastructure available to accelerate station deployment and joint operations. The partnership encompasses co--development of vehicles and battery packs, battery leasing and asset management services, and efforts to advance standardized battery--swapping specifications across the industry.
