On October 13, 2026, Redwire Corporation introduced the Octopus 140 LWIR, a compact, gyro--stabilized electro--optical/infrared (EO/IR) payload designed for defense and security missions. Engineered to provide round--the--clock intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) as well as enhanced situational awareness, the 140 mm system incorporates Full HD electro--optical and long--wave infrared sensors, precision laser ranging, advanced stabilization, and onboard processing to support automated target localization and tracking without adding significant weight to uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) platforms.
