Project management news from around the world

On March 3, 2026, researchers at ETH Zurich introduced "Resilience--Based Scheduling" (RBS), a project management methodology designed to address the limitations of the traditional "Critical Path Method" (CPM) in volatile environments. RBS utilizes "Probabilistic Network Analysis" to identify potential "Systemic Cascading Failures" and strategically allocates "Dynamic Buffers" to high--risk nodes. Unlike static scheduling, RBS allows for real--time adjustments based on environmental stressors. A longitudinal study across global infrastructure and public sector IT projects revealed that those utilizing RBS were 40% more likely to adhere to original deadlines during significant external disruptions.
