On July 1, 2026, researchers at Tsinghua University published a study in Nature Machine Intelligence introducing "Self--Evolving Knowledge Ontologies" (SEKO). This framework utilizes autonomous agents to continuously map and update the semantic relationships within an organization's internal data without human intervention. By leveraging a "Dynamic Schema" approach, SEKO allows enterprise knowledge bases to adapt their structure in real--time as new business domains or technologies emerge, significantly reducing the manual labor traditionally associated with ontology maintenance in rapidly evolving AI--driven industries.
