On September 25, 2026, MP Materials Corp. announced that construction on its $1.25 billion "10X" rare earth magnet manufacturing campus in Northlake, Texas, has officially gone vertical. The 120--acre facility, slated to generate more than 1,500 jobs, will expand the company's downstream processing capacity to approximately 10,000 metric tons of neodymium--iron--boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets annually. The project is backed by a 100% offtake commitment from the U.S. Department of Defense, with commercial operations scheduled to launch in 2028 to establish an end--to--end domestic supply chain for defense and critical industrial applications.
