Graphene stocks
Concretene Ltd. announced on October 26, 2026, that it raised £4.5 million ($6.0 million) in the first close of its Series A funding round to transition from laboratory validation to multi--tonne commercial production of its graphene--enhanced concrete admixtures.
Key strategic and commercial highlights include:
- Funding Structure & Key Backers: The round was led by a £2.0 million commitment from NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance (managed by PXN Ventures under the British Business Bank's Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II), alongside follow--on participation from existing investors LocalGlobe and publicly traded venture firm Molten Ventures (LSE: GROW). Engineering consultancy Arup continues to back technical scaling and industrial rollout.
- Operational Scaling & Manufacturing: Capital proceeds will fund the deployment of industrial--scale admixture manufacturing capacity, broader field trials with commercial construction partners, and the development of the "Manchester graphene" program—a circular supply initiative using wastewater biogas from United Utilities to produce carbon--negative graphene at multi--tonne scale.
- Performance & Unit Economics: Concretene's admixture enables a 10% to 20% reduction in cement content in standard mix designs without degrading compressive strength, durability, or placement handling, designed to achieve full cost--neutrality at scale without imposing a green premium.
