Kesterite tech news

Maxeon Solar Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MAXN) announced on July 6, 2026, the successful completion of field trials for its "Maxeon Air--K" product line, marking the first commercial--scale deployment of Kesterite (CZTS) thin--film technology on flexible substrates. Utilizing a proprietary "Aqueous--Ink Deposition" technique, the modules achieved a certified efficiency of 15.1%, significantly closing the performance gap with traditional CIGS while eliminating the use of rare elements like indium and gallium. Maxeon highlighted that the Air--K's frameless, adhesive--backed form factor reduces installation time by 50% for commercial rooftops. The company has secured a 20MW supply agreement with a major European logistics provider for a rollout beginning in September 2026.
