On September 25, 2026, Kazakhstan President Kassym--Jomart Tokayev met with UBTECH Robotics Senior Vice--President Zhong Yong in Almaty on the sidelines of the Kazakhstan--China Investment Forum to discuss expanding the company's regional footprint. During the talks, Tokayev welcomed UBTECH's strategic project to establish its first overseas production plant in Almaty, which will manufacture educational and service robotics and is scheduled to begin commercial operations in the first quarter of 2027. Both parties explored large--scale technology deployments across Alatau City, as well as integrating industrial robotics into Kazakhstan's mining, metallurgy, oil and gas, and logistics infrastructure, alongside plans to launch a joint robotics center of excellence.
