Low friction coatings tech news
On September 26, 2026, Canadian surface engineering specialist Nanize announced the commercial introduction of its PFAS--free polysilazane coating technology, offering a sustainable alternative to fluoropolymers in low--friction, anti--soiling, and easy--clean applications. Developed using extensive Fourier--transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) characterization to optimize curing kinetics and molecular cross--linking, the formulation achieves durable, low--friction surface performance while complying with increasingly stringent global regulations restricting PFAS substances.
