Electro Optic Systems (ASX: EOS) announced on September 24, 2026, that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Netherlands Ministry of Defence to co--develop and manufacture the "Apollo" high--energy laser (HEL) weapon system. The agreement, which includes a €71.4 million (A$115 million) export framework, designates the Netherlands as the company's primary European manufacturing hub. The partnership focuses on transitioning the 100kW--class Apollo prototype into a mobile, militarily deployable air defense system capable of neutralizing up to 20 drones per minute. This strategic move aligns with the Dutch "Defensienota" and involves an official investigation into establishing a local production facility to supply NATO allies with directed energy capabilities. Additionally, the company maintains a scheduled corporate action for a proposed issuance of new ordinary shares set for December 2027.
