Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) and Honda announced a collaboration on October 1, 2026, to develop an autonomous robotics system for future commercial space stations. The joint initiative pairs Honda's multi--fingered robotic hand—equipped with advanced tactile and force sensing—with Redwire's STAARK robotic arm and experiment locker technologies to automate routine in--orbit laboratory workflows, including sample transfers, equipment operation, and inventory maintenance. The solution is intended to support commercial low Earth orbit stations designed for smaller astronaut crews and reduced human operational time. Redwire and Honda plan to present the integrated robotics concept to commercial space station operators and prospective industry partners at the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya, Türkiye, taking place from October 5 to October 9, 2026.
