On October 10, 2026, preliminary results from the first round of the Czech Republic's Senate and municipal elections showed Prime Minister Andrej Babiš's ANO movement securing leads across multiple districts in the contest for 27 seats in the 81--member upper chamber. ANO advanced 13 candidates to runoffs against the center--right opposition, which is defending its Senate majority and its constitutional oversight powers. Runoff elections to decide the remaining contested seats will take place on October 16 and October 17, 2026.
