Microsoft and Mistral AI announced a multi--billion dollar expansion of their strategic partnership on July 21, 2026. Under the agreement, Microsoft will fund Mistral's GPU infrastructure growth in Europe to secure additional compute capacity. In exchange, Mistral's frontier models, including "Medium 3.5" and "OCR 4," will be integrated into Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio, providing enterprise customers with enhanced AI deployment flexibility in regulated and disconnected environments.
