Planet Labs PBC Stock watching
On October 21, 2026, Planet Labs PBC (NYSE: PL) announced that its subsidiary, Planet Labs Federal, Inc., secured an evaluation task order under NASA's Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) program. Under the agreement, NASA will evaluate more than 250,000 square kilometers of high--resolution hyperspectral data from Planet's Tanager satellite platform, spanning both archived datasets and newly tasked acquisitions. The assessment will evaluate Level 1C (top--of--atmosphere) and Level 2A (surface reflectance) data products captured by Tanager's Dyson--type imaging spectrometer—measuring radiance across more than 400 contiguous spectral bands at a 30--meter spatial resolution—to determine their viability for scientific initiatives in atmospheric composition, biodiversity, hydrology, geology, and disaster management.
