Perovskite Tech news
On July 17, 2026, the California Energy Commission (CEC) officially issued a $75 million public tender for the "Urban Perovskite Integration" initiative. The procurement program is designed to fund the installation of perovskite--based solar windows and building--integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) cladding across state--owned office complexes in Sacramento and Los Angeles. To qualify, bidders must provide prototypes that demonstrate a minimum 20--year operational lifespan and at least 30% optical transparency for window--integrated modules. This initiative represents one of the largest government--led deployments of perovskite technology for urban infrastructure to date.
