CATL news

On October 20, 2026, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) officially launched its Dual--Electric Range Extender system and announced the infrastructure expansion plan for its QIJI heavy--duty truck battery--swapping ecosystem in Beijing. The powertrain technology utilizes an "A+B" architecture pairing a standardized, chassis--mounted swappable traction battery (offered in 432 kWh and 513 kWh configurations) with an independent 77 kWh cab--mounted backup battery pack capable of 3C charging. The configuration allows fleet operators to discharge primary swappable packs down to a 5% state of charge before backup power activates, enabling five--minute battery swaps and lowering total operating expenditures. During the launch, CATL secured commercial agreements covering 13,000 heavy--duty vehicles with key logistics carriers, including SF Express, ZTO Express, and YTO Express.
