On June 19, 2026, GCL Optoelectronic announced that it has entered the mass production phase for its perovskite solar modules, following the successful ramp--up of its 500 MW production line. The company expects to begin commercial shipments by the end of Q3 2026, with an initial shipment target of 50–70 MW. GCL is prioritizing a 4--terminal (4T) tandem architecture, which utilizes a stable 1.55 eV perovskite bandgap to achieve a 27% efficiency on large--area 2 m² modules. These modules have already passed the IEC 61215 durability tests, positioning the company to serve utility--scale, distributed generation, and residential segments with the first meaningful commercial volumes of 4T perovskite technology.
