On May 29, 2026, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Thailand to explore the development of a battery production hub in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The project aims to support the local electric vehicle ecosystem and establish Thailand as a regional export base for CATL’s "CTP" (Cell--to--Pack) technology. This initiative aligns with Thailand's "30@30" policy, which targets 30% of domestic vehicle production to be zero--emission by 2030.
