On October 15, 2026, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Premier Li Qiang will conduct official diplomatic visits to Central Asia from October 17 to October 20, 2026. Li will travel to Uzbekistan from October 17 to 18 at the invitation of Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, followed by an official visit to Tajikistan from October 18 to 20 at the invitation of Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda. During his stay in Tajikistan, Premier Li will attend the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to advance multilateral economic, trade, and regional security coordination.
