Perovskite Tech news
On July 16, 2026, the U.S.--based startup Swift Solar announced the acquisition of a comprehensive intellectual property (IP) portfolio from the former manufacturer Meyer Burger, specifically targeting heterojunction (HJT) solar cell technology. This strategic acquisition allows Swift Solar to integrate Meyer Burger’s established HJT architecture with its proprietary perovskite layers to produce high--efficiency tandem modules. The company is also collaborating with former Meyer Burger technical experts to establish a domestic, high--performance solar manufacturing base in the United States, focusing on the bankability and rapid scaling of tandem technology for the commercial market.
