Perovskite Tech news
On July 26, 2026, the European Commission awarded a €45 million contract to the Solar--on--Move Consortium, led by Oxford PV and Meyer Burger, to integrate perovskite--silicon tandem cells into the roofs of 5,000 electric public transit buses across ten EU member states. This initiative, part of the "Green Transit 2030" framework, represents the largest public procurement of perovskite--based vehicle--integrated photovoltaics (VIPV) to date. The project aims to extend the driving range of urban buses by an average of 15% through continuous solar charging.
