On July 10, 2026, Hanwha Qcells announced the successful completion of its "Project Tandem" pilot in Thalheim, Germany, achieving a 29.3% efficiency rating for a commercial--sized perovskite--silicon tandem module. The company has officially commenced the retooling of its Line 4 production facility for high--volume tandem manufacturing, with initial commercial shipments scheduled for Q4 2026. This transition marks the first instance of a tier--1 solar manufacturer moving perovskite--enhanced technology into large--scale industrial production.
