Hyundai Motor Group (KRX: 005380) announced on June 4, 2026, that its subsidiary, Boston Dynamics, has secured a $120 million contract with the South Korean Ministry of National Defense for the deployment of 500 "Spot" Quadrupedal Unmanned Ground Vehicles (Q--UGVs). The agreement includes a comprehensive five--year lifecycle support and AI software integration package. This contract marks the largest defense--sector procurement for the platform to date and is projected to provide a substantial tailwind for Hyundai's robotics segment earnings through 2030.
