On October 10, 2026, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT, SHA: 688825) announced a major technological breakthrough in its proprietary 4F² DRAM architecture at the 4th Integrated Chips and Chiplet Conference. According to CXMT President Cao Kanyu, the company developed Vertical Surrounded Gate (VSG) transistors to suppress leakage current and short--channel effects, boosting memory cell density by an estimated 30% to 50% over conventional 6F² designs. CXMT has decoupled memory array and CMOS logic processing using wafer--level hybrid bonding 3D integration and holds more than 300 published patent families in the architecture. The company plans to introduce its first commercial product utilizing the architecture—a server--grade DDR5 RDIMM—by December 2026 to penetrate the high--reliability enterprise server and AI compute market.
