Low friction coatings tech news
On September 18, 2026, surface treatment specialist SurTec introduced its portfolio of dry--lubrication Anti--Friction Coatings (AFCs) engineered for wind energy infrastructure at WindEnergy Hamburg. The coatings provide permanent, dry sliding films designed to prevent galling, reduce assembly force requirements, and eliminate stick--slip effects across high--load components such as plain bearings and threaded connections. In plain bearings, the coatings ensure reliable dry--film lubrication during oil--starved conditions, start--stop cycles, and installation. Addressing tightening chemical restrictions, the lineup includes a dedicated portfolio of PFAS--free anti--friction formulations that deliver wear resistance and corrosion protection while maintaining consistent friction coefficients over repeated tightening cycles.
