On July 11, 2026, researchers at UC Berkeley in collaboration with Google Cloud announced the successful pilot of "Elastic Knowledge Sharding" (EKS). This new technology optimizes large--scale organizational knowledge management by dynamically partitioning enterprise data into "intelligent shards" based on real--time departmental demand and usage patterns. EKS allows AI agents to access specific, high--relevance knowledge subsets with sub--millisecond latency, drastically reducing the computational overhead typically associated with querying massive, petabyte--scale internal repositories. This breakthrough enables real--time, AI--driven decision support for global logistics and supply chain management by ensuring that the most critical organizational insights are always in the system's "active memory."
