Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) and Sophia Space announced on September 30, 2026, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance the development and deployment of scalable computing infrastructure in orbit. The partnership pairs Sophia Space's modular orbital compute architecture—designed for artificial intelligence inference, data processing, and thermal efficiency—with Redwire's capabilities in deployable structures, solar power generation and distribution, heat rejection, spacecraft integration, avionics, and systems engineering. Under the agreement, both companies will collaborate on near--term technology demonstration missions and long--term orbital data center architectures to support the expanding commercial and defense demand for space--based edge computing.
