On October 16, 2026, Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Lena Metlege Diab announced structural revisions to the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) designed to better align immigration flows with national economic and labour market demands. Under the updated policy framework, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will award additional CRS points starting November 3, 2026, to candidates possessing eligible Canadian work experience or qualifying job offers in designated high--wage occupations, such as engineering and licensed electrical trades, aiming to bolster domestic productivity and retain key skilled talent.
