On July 1, 2026, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) announced the successful grid connection of its 500MW/2GWh energy storage project in Western Australia. Utilizing the "EnerX" liquid--cooled system, the facility is designed to stabilize the regional power grid and facilitate the integration of renewable energy. This project represents CATL's largest energy storage deployment in the Oceania region to date.
