Solid Power stock news
On October 26, 2026, Solid Power, Inc. (NASDAQ: SLDP) announced that it has begun commissioning MOBIUS, its continuous manufacturing pilot line for sulfide--based solid electrolyte at its SP2 facility in Thornton, Colorado. Construction of the system—previously designated as the SP2.5 Continuous Manufacturing Pilot Line—has reached substantial completion, and materials are currently being introduced into the process. MOBIUS is designed to add 45 metric tons of annual solid electrolyte production capacity, expanding total electrolyte capacity at the SP2 facility to approximately 75 metric tons per year, representing a 150% increase. Operating alongside existing batch lines and supported by up to $50 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the continuous production line is intended to improve process control, consistency, and scale for automotive OEM and Tier 1 battery partners.
